This notice explains what personal information ONAC Technologies ("ONAC", "we", "us") collects through this website, the ONAC Network Studio software and its licence service, why we collect it and what your rights are. We are the controller of this information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You can contact us about anything in this notice at contact@onactech.co.uk.
When you use our contact form or email us we receive your name, email address, company (if given) and your message. We use these to reply and to deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
When you apply for ONAC Network Studio Pro we receive the details on the form: your name, email, phone number, country, organisation, role, experience, qualifications, intended use, the vehicles and hardware you work with, any website or profile link you give, and your declarations. We use these only to decide whether to approve your application, to contact you about it, and — if approved — to issue a personal checkout invitation tied to your email address. We may check the information you give against public sources such as your company's website or professional profile. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in making sure the Pro sending tools are only supplied to suitably qualified people.
Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record for our software subscriptions and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares with us your name, email address, country and the status of your subscription, which we use to issue your licence, provide support and keep financial records. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you and complying with our legal obligations.
When ONAC Network Studio activates or checks a licence it sends our licence service your licence key, a one-way hashed identifier for your PC (the raw Windows identifier never leaves your PC), your PC's name and the app edition. The service records which PCs a key is active on so we can enforce the activation limit and let you move your licence. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in preventing unlicensed use.
Vehicle network logs, recordings, video and databases you create with ONAC Network Studio are stored on your own PC. We do not receive them. If you choose to use the optional Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude features, the data you select is sent directly from your PC to that provider using your own API key and is handled under your agreement with them — it does not pass through ONAC.
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf or as independent controllers where stated:
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations. We do not sell your information, and we only share it otherwise where the law requires us to.
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to you or another organisation. Some rights depend on our reason for using the information. To use any of them, email contact@onactech.co.uk; we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
We'll update this notice when how we use information changes, and change the date at the top.
